If you are developing a web site, select appropriate visuals. Bitmap photos usually are large and don’t work as well as PNGs. For text buttons, screenshots, and also other images which are not photos, use PNG for photos with over 256 colors and GIF for images with a lot less. JPEG graphics can be used as pictures.
