With the Minecraft 1.18 update – Caves and Cliffs – there’s a whole host of new biomes, new blocks, and Minecraft mobs coming to the game which includes the Minecraft warden however there are plenty of new features to discover currently.
Sound good? It sounds wonderful however, joining a snapshot beta can be difficult if you’re not sure where to go or what you should do. You’ll need the right set of instructions for each version of Minecraft that you are using.

Minecraft Beta Versions
There are some significant differences between the Minecraft beta versions. The Bedrock edition is slightly behind the Java edition in terms of beta features, but it does come with the latest Minecraft goats that you can spawn with eggs in creative mode, and you can choose to feed them wheat to breed baby goats! Update snapshots typically go live around one month before the official launch.
Beta version of Minecraft bedrock
These steps will assist you in registering for Minecraft beta on Bedrock Edition on PC.
Go to the Microsoft Store app, search for the Insider App. It’s free to download. The app is open and click on the Previews tab. If you are using Minecraft Bedrock edition and you want to view the ‘Minecraft For Windows 10 beta programme’. Click here to go through the disclaimer. – After reading the disclaimer, make sure that you are aware of the terms and conditions, and you’ll download the beta version of Minecraft via the Microsoft Store. – Open the newly downloaded version of Minecraft and click to launch with a brand new game. If the title screen is beta, you’ll be able to tell that you are playing the correct version. – In the world options, make sure that you scroll down and enable the Caves and Cliffs option to see the new features.
It’s highly recommended that with each snapshot, you start with a new world. This will allow you to discover any new biomes in the world generation, such as the Minecraft Lush Caves.
Minecraft Java edition beta version
The current Java snapshot version has a little more, as it is the only one with all the new mountain biomes.
Follow these steps to enter the Minecraft beta version of Java Edition on your PC:
Install the Minecraft Java client by login to your account and downloading it. After opening the client then click Minecraft, then click the installation tab. Make sure that the option the option ‘Snapshots’ is selected. The latest snapshot version will be displayed in the list. – Click Play while hovering over the snapshot to run it.
