Minecraft’s silent landscaper Steve is exiting his blocky world and stepping into Telltale’s world of stories: Minecraft is getting a “narrative-driven” game by the team behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. Minecraft: Story Mode, like the other Telltale titles, will be episodic and playable across a variety of platforms when it launches “sometime in 2015.” Despite the acquisition, it seems that Microsoft’s pledge to keep Minecraft multiplatform continues to hold.
Telltale describes the game as a collaboration with Mojang and says that it won’t exist as an attachment for Minecraft. Instead, it will be a separate series “driven by the preferences of players.” MINECRAFT PLUGINS Both Mojang and Telltale insist that they’re working with the community on the development of the storyline and Mojang specificaly says “We’re not planning on creating an official story for Steve (the main character of Minecraftor describing the world of Minecraft in detail.”
We don’t have any photos or video yet of the game in action but we expect to see a style similar to Minecraft’s art style.
